Zorayda Sheets Bussom ’19

Zorayda Sheets Bussom was born in 1901 and graduated from Shelby High School in 1919. As an adult, one of her major interests was creating opportunities for Shelby girls. One of her chief accomplishments was founding the first Girl Scout troop in Shelby.

Then in 1940, Zorayda co-founded the Girl Scout Little House. During the ensuing decades, that Seltzer Park landmark has benefited thousands of Shelbians. Zorayda died in September of 1988.
